Some angel networks charge fees to apply for funding. What do you charge?
We don’t charge anything to apply for funding and will let you know quickly if we think you’re a fit for our network.
Are you a broker or an investment fund?
No. Ambassadors Impact Network is a business association that facilitates connection and communication of faith-driven entrepreneurs to like-minded investors. We enable funding and the advancement of entrepreneurs whose faith convictions may be a potential roadblock to securing funding from secular investors. AIN is not a broker and does not charge fees for its services. AIN is not a venture fund and does not invest its own capital. Any and all investment decisions are made by AIN members on an individual basis.
How do you handle confidential information from companies?
We are extremely protective of your company and personal information. We recognize that many companies we fund may be run by entrepreneurs whose faith may subject them to extreme opposition or even oppression in parts of the world. While we most often do not execute non-disclosure or confidentiality agreements, each member has been reference checked and has signed a commitment to maintain confidentiality of all nonpublic company information to which they have access. Except for the Funding Application on this site, information or files you submit are shared to network members via a secure platform that is never linked to our website. Further, we will not publish that our network has facilitated funding of your company without your express permission.
What types of information do you ask about from companies later in the process?
Throughout the application process, we will request additional information regarding finances, business operations, partnerships, management background, and social and spiritual impact metrics.
Why do you only fund Christian-led companies?
We recognize that investments led by those with other or no faith convictions have and do generate significant financial returns with great social impact. And since many others recognize this, almost every angel network and financial investment platform facilitates funding of business led without respect to the faith of the business leaders. Our experience indicates that Christian entrepreneurs who boldly live out their faith run into roadblocks from investors. Further, these entrepreneurs face unique challenges as they seek to balance profit, business excellence, God’s environmental mandate, and Jesus’ example of care. Our network of executives, investors, and entrepreneurs offer help in the face of these unique challenges.
Where can I get a list of your members?
We don’t provide lists of our network members. If you apply for funding, you may meet some of them. Collectively our members have been investing for over 900 years, made nearly 1100 private investments, and served on over 385 boards. Our desire is to be winsome witnesses of the love of Jesus in the arenas of business and investing.
What is your whole application process?
Funding application submission process (about 3 weeks):
Contact Ambassadors Impact Network and provide details about your company or fund by completing the appropriate online application here.
We review and assess if we’re a potential fit for your funding needs, based on our investment criteria and members’ investment preferences.
If so, we invite you to submit a more comprehensive funding application. If not, we let you know as soon as possible.
Upon receipt of your full application, our intake committee will review and let you know if you’ve been selected for the investment committee process.
Investment committee and funding process (about 5 weeks):
We develop a diligence memo for distribution to our network members.
If there is sufficient interest from our members to learn more, we host a virtual or in-person meeting for you to pitch.
We work with you to address any remaining diligence questions.
Network members indicate anticipated funding levels.
Our investment committee finalizes legal review of funding documents and works with you to confirm you have the appropriate documentation.
Our members invest directly in your company or fund. Note that individual investors will be communicating directly with you during this funding stage and you are responsible for communicating with them and responding to any questions.
Engagement committee (post-investment):
If we invest, we are committed to your long-term success. A network member serves as your connection to our organization, providing spiritual encouragement, business assistance, and ongoing mentorship. In some cases, a network member will serve as a board member, board observer, or advisor.
